My name is Rachael and I have a background in art direction and design. Throughout my career, I've found that the most memorable concepts always start with an 'a-ha' moment, leaving me wondering why it didn't come to me sooner. Fresh, simple ideas often end up with the best results.
I've always loved photography, and in particular, I've always enjoyed taking pictures of my daughter and her friends. One day I had an 'a-ha' moment - I can bring this passion to other families throughout the Bay Area. I offer one-hour play date photo sessions in your favorite setting with natural light. I use my iPhone to capture authentic, special moments right as they happen.
Because it's all so simple, I can keep my overhead low. I'll provide memorable snapshots at an affordable price.

How it Works
I like to keep things simple, so here's what to expect.
BOOK A PLAY DATE
Ready to play? Book online to schedule a Play Date photo shoot with me and your family.
SNAP + PLAY
Play time. I'll meet you for an hour at a location of your choice. Just remember, the setting is key.
SELECT YOUR SNAPS
Choose up to 10 digital snaps during the session. Images will be available for download within 48 hours.
Book a Play Date
The process is very simple. There is a flat fee of $150 for a photo session within the SF Bay Area, which includes round trip transportation up to 10 miles from San Rafael, CA. Anything beyond 10 miles will be charged an additional $0.50/mile.
On our play date, I will attempt to capture the inner light that makes your child so special. I always search for interesting angles, moody light, and colors that pop when shooting portraits. I guarantee at least 10 quality digital snaps of your children from our photo session.
Kids grow up fast, so make sure you capture memories from each stage with photos. Whether you want to document this special time in their life or need some fun snapshots for your next holiday card, now is the perfect time to schedule your play date.

Why do you use an iPhone?I love my DSLR camera, but my iPhone takes some pretty amazing snapshots, and it allows me to maneuver easily and capture interesting angles. Also, kids seem less intimidated by an iPhone. All of the photos in my gallery were taken with an iPhone.

Is the quality of an iPhone photo good enough prints?Yes, however, it depends on the size of the print. If you're looking for smaller prints (5x5" or 5x7") and holiday cards, the iPhone resolution is fine. It may not be suitable for larger format prints, such as 8x10".

Can I purchase prints?Yes! The basic service includes 10 digital image downloads, but you can purchase additional prints directly from me. Please inquire for more details.

Can you help me design my holiday cards?Yes! I'm happy to help you set up a template for your holiday cards. I recommend my favorite provider, Paperculture. They have some beautiful templates, they credit their designers, and every order plants a tree!

What if I would like to book a longer photo session?My base rate of $150 includes a one-hour photo session plus transportation (up to 10 miles roundtrip from San Rafael). If you would like a longer photo session, each additional hour is $100.

How do I pay for a photo session?You can pay with a credit card or PayPal when you book your Play Date photo session online. I also accept payment in person at the end of our photo shoot (cash or Venmo).
